    Description:
zVolume is a skinnable volume control for your desktop. It allows up to four volume sliders, including mute buttons. It comes with two skins, ice (pictured) and fire.

zVolume has only been tested on Aston 1.9.2 running under Windows XP.
Your mileage may vary, I make no promises of system compatibility.

It is usefull only to show current volume level. Control is almost inpossible 'cause it's hard to catch "control point" on slider and mute is not work at all.

You can click/drag anywhere within the slider area to change the volume to that point, you do not have to grab a slider handle or anything like that.

I don't know if your resolution is too high, or your mouse sucks, but I have no difficulty at all changing volume with the default skins. If the sliders are too thin, you are also welcome to make your own skin that suits your tastes.

I am working on an update to the default skins that will make it easier to hit the sliders, and also a coding update that will change the mouse cursor when you're over a slider to give visual feedback.

Mute may not work for some channels depending on your sound card. Also some volume channels may not work, again depending on your sound card. As an example, I have 3 computers here, and on one computer I can't mute the cd channel using zVolume, but I can still control the volume for that channel.

I have just updated the plugin to include a hand mouse cursor when your pointer is over a hotspot.

I also added another event handler to make it more sensetive to mouse clicks.

I also modified the default skin, to make the clickable region of the sliders 12 pixels wide instead of 6 pixels. You will need to load the apc file again in order for the new sliders to be aligned properly.

Mute is work properly now. Control work only to decrease volume level. I can't raise the slider.

I have no problems with positioning my mouse pointer...

Opps... It works... If I want to decrease volume level hot area is all area wihin the slider but to increase one hot area is a BORDER of the slider. That's why my mark is 8. Thanks a lot for this plug-in it is very usefull :)

Marco: You can certainly create your own skins for it. Just look at the default skins for an example of how to do this.

For Some reason I cannot get this plugin to work. I extract the files to C:\Program Files\Aston\Plugins. Than I go into aston options and go to plugins and click 'add'. Than I find zVolume.plg. Following, I click 'setup plug-in' and load the one of the skins (fire or ice). I do all this and click apply and everything....but nothing shows up on my desktop. HELP!

Nevermind I fixed the problem. It was unrelated to Aston or the Plug-in. Thanks anyways

Good- does the job well. One problem I find with it though is that it flickers above a couple of full-screen applications.
