Excellent (like I allreasy said on the forums).
It's amazing how 24 kb can be as useful as this download is :) My widescreen laptop loves your plugin. Now I can keep it all in check O+
Zealot-6 strikes again :)
Next to that: Is there any chance for it to be possible to limit several windows to several place on the screen?
Don't know if you ever used it but that's sort of like Windows 3.11 worked. IIRC correcly ;)

AWESOME!!! I've been waiting for this plugin for awhile! I had to download SDA.exe and set a desktop object to execute it, and then click that object every time I came back to my desktop from a game or a movie. Now it can even be a part of themes! Thanks a lot Zealot-6!

Perfect. Now my widescreen-laptop can have the vertical bar and the right side toolbar open en accessible.
Do you think it's possible to have settings for different events? Like have 1 normal explorer screen en 1 internet explorer screen next to eachother with their own boundaries.
This is a very usable 24 Kb :) :)
10/10.

This was the Plugin I was searching for for years. I tried using it to get a free area on top, but it doesnt work 100%. Very often windows dont care about the free area and there is a difference between the free area when maximizing windows and when using them normal.

very useful plug-in. BUT, there's something wrong with it. it crashes the shell after extended use. you don't lose the open applications but you lose everything else. at least taskman can still launch. logoff-logon corrects the problem but, after a while, there it goes again. memory leak???

Along with the "VertPanel" and "TopPanel" plugins the most important plugin for my personal Aston shell configuration. Unfortunately, it *CRASHES* my shell every few hours with the following error message:
aston.exe - Application error ----------------------------- The instruction at "0x7c90312f" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".
It would be very helpful if this problem could be fixed very soon. I also use AltDesk (Gladiator Softwares desktop manager) and it is essential to set the desktop area to allow AltDesk to reside in a seperate area not interfering with the main window ares!
To answer the question of "Keuchter Knödel": If an application is configured to "always stay on top" it can reside outside the main window area. This is an important feature of zSDA because it allows not only desktop items but also applications (like AltDesk or WinAmp) to reside in a small area outside the main window.

I have also found that zSDA crashes Astonshell. Such a great idea but so utterly useless if it's unstable. Maybe I'll try to rewrite it...

It's an essential and awesome plugin. But crashes Aston 1.9.2. A complete pity for an otherwise impressively useful plugin

Zealot-6, I have installed your plugin and I must admit that it's really useful one. :) But there's a problem about this crashes... The shell crashes, 'cose it uses all system GDI (they limit is 10000). And a new GDI is used every time your plugin updates. I think the problem is there. Hope you'll fix this soon. ;)
P.S.: well, one could use the plugin just restarting Aston every time it crashes, but... the Windows itself is unstable after such crashes. :(

The plugin is really great! The only reason I couldn't give this a 10 is the reason I see some others are having, Aston always crashes when setdesktoparea is active...I too await a beta that gets rid of this bug.

I found this a the first result of looking for why my Aston Shell was crashing. Sure enough I use this plugin. Looking at the comments this has been an issue for 3 years now - and it remains unfixed and with no suitable substitute plugin. So sad, without this plugin Aston is unusable, and this plugin is unstable. It looks like I will have to go back to using litestep.
